One of the main obstructions to organic interplanetary space travel is solar radiation. This is not a problem anymore. Listed in this blog are the concepts needed to protect organic material from solar radiation.
Variable magnetic fields can be placed around the outside spacecraft to push solar radiation around the vehicle. This shielding can also provide the thrust needed to travel long distances.
I am quite certain we can build a robotic dry dock at 10,000km. This above the space station. Many small robots would be sent to construct and supply the dry dock. These robots are now the dry dock. From this we can build and supply a small team to build the spacecraft. Some of the ten would go with the ship and some will build the next ship.
What if a big rock hits your shielded spacecraft?
ReplyDeleteThe way to resolve that issue is to know where the rocks are and avoid them. Also I have explained in this site that the magnetic field would change the trajectory of the rock. This process can be calculated and preparations would be taken.
