The Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) is evaluating how Gluons affect Protons spin. Data is showing the Gluon as described in this model has more influence over Proton spin than Quarks.

The Standard Vibration Model describes Gluons as the strands of nuclear densities that have active information whereas Quarks lack information.  Three Gluons form a Baryon. The Quarks are the excess storage area of Gluon strands. Thus Quarks have less of an affect upon the spin of the overall Proton.
