Baryon Density - NCSA

Credit: NCSA (The National Center for Supercomputing Applications)

1.5 billion light year cube of baryon distribution

 Truly awesome.

But my critical mind says is there is no galaxy distribution. I don't see Galactic Clusters or similar distribution patterns. I would like to see the associated algorithms used to create this pic. I think this is a need to understand Dark Matter and its interaction with Baryonic Matter.

But it does look similar to this pic from the Spitzer Space Telescope.
